Baptised at Sarce on 3 March 1756, his godmother his own sister Magdelaine. He witnessed his brother Michel's marriage at Mayet in 1800, at forty-two, which fits. He is the man a widely copied family tree mistakes for Michel's father; he married an Anne Jeanne Fontenay, buried in 1836 as his widow.
