Known in the family as Jimmy, which is why the census indexes list a James in this household and no Arthur. Staff sergeant, US Marine Corps. Buried at Long Island National Cemetery beside his wife. His headstone gives his rank and his corps but not his war, and the Marine Corps records are not in the Army enlistment file his three brothers appear in. He was twenty-one at Pearl Harbor. He and Mary had nine children, seven sons and two daughters, which is recorded here on the word of a member of the family rather than from a document. Three of them have died, and they are named here: Michael, James and John. The other six are living and are not named.
